Conclusion of this page

  • Baekrokdam does not currently provide non-face-to-face consultations or prescriptions for those staying overseas, nor do we provide international shipping for prescribed medications.

  • The fact that a package is accepted by the post office is different from customs clearance approval in the destination country. Please personally check the latest regulations of the destination country's government and customs before departure.

  • If you are carrying medication prescribed within Korea, keep the original packaging and medication instructions. Please inquire with Baekrokdam in advance regarding the availability of necessary English documents and your medication plan during travel.

Please check your current medications before reading

If you do not know the name, ingredients, and dosage of your medication, you may apply incorrect information even if it is categorized as 'weight loss medicine.' This page does not replace individual prescription changes or emergency medical care.

To be clear: We do not provide overseas prescriptions or international shipping.

Baekrokdam does not currently provide telemedicine or prescriptions for patients staying overseas, nor do we ship Baekrok Gambi-jeong to overseas addresses. The fact that overseas residents can consult in Korean is a separate issue from whether medical care and prescriptions for overseas patients are possible.

We do not provide guidance on prescribing medicine to family members in Korea on your behalf or sending it via family or shipping agencies. This is because the eligible patient, the delivery of medicine, and customs clearance in the destination country must each be verified separately. If you have plans to return to Korea or visit the clinic, please first inquire with Baekrokdam about the possible scope of preparation.

International shipping is different from carrying medicine personally as a traveler.

The procedures for sending items via mail or courier to an overseas address may differ from those for departing the country with medicine prescribed to you in Korea in your luggage. The fact that mail is accepted does not mean customs clearance is permitted in the destination country, and carrying items as a traveler is not automatically permitted simply because they are for personal use.

This page does not verify the regulations of all countries on your behalf. After determining the departure country, transit countries, duration of stay, actual prescription, and quantity, you must verify the medical care and dosage parts with Baekrokdam and the import parts with the government and customs of the destination country.

Acceptance at the post office is separate from customs clearance in the destination country.

The Korea Post states that the interpretation of medicines and herbal medicine ingredients is broad and that final customs clearance is determined by the destination country. Even if accepted in Korea, it may be rejected by customs in the destination country and returned or destroyed. Documents such as an English prescription may be required.

Therefore, we do not decide on a shipment based solely on experiences such as "EMS accepted it" or "I sent it to the same country before." Regulations can vary by country, ingredient, quantity, and timing, and Baekrokdam does not currently provide international shipping itself.

Verify these three things with the official authorities of the destination country.

First, check if personal carriage or import of prescription drugs, herbal medicine, or plant-based medicines is possible. Second, check the permitted quantity and whether prior approval or declaration is required. Third, Ephedra·ephedrineverify ingredients that may be subject to separate control, such as certain components, and the required documents.

Prioritize the latest official pages of the destination country's health authorities, customs, or embassy over blog searches or answers from shipping agencies. If you enter or re-process luggage in a transit country, you may also need to check the regulations of that transit country.

Regulations in the US, Japan, and Australia also differ from one another.

The US FDA explains that personal import of medicines purchased abroad is illegal in most situations, and judgments in limited situations are discretionary rather than automatic permits. Japan requires an Import Confirmation depending on the item and quantity and maintains separate regulations for prohibited or controlled ingredients.

Australia guides users to check the Personal Importation Scheme conditions, quantities, and written authorization for prescription drugs. These examples are not a comparison of which country is easier, but rather mean that rules differ by country and must be verified anew for every departure.means.

Please notify Baekrokdam at least 2 to 4 weeks before departure.

Please send us the departure country and date, duration of stay, transit points, current Baekrok Gambi-jeong prescription, and remaining quantity. Doctor Choi Yeon-seung will verify the dosage timing, time difference, storage, and current symptoms during travel, and provide guidance on the availability of prescription-related documents.

It may be difficult to obtain approval or prepare documents from the destination country immediately before departure. Even if you find that documents are required, the patient must directly verify with the relevant authority whether the issuance format, language, and content meet the requirements of the destination country. Baekrokdam cannot guarantee customs clearance.

Maintain the original packaging and medication guides.

Do not transfer medication into unnamed small containers or zipper bags; keep the original packaging and medication guide that allow for the verification of your name, the prescribing institution, and the product. If permitted, keep them in your carry-on luggage to reduce the risk of loss or exposure to temperature extremes, and manage them so that children and others do not take them.

Keep required documents in both paper and electronic copies. Do not divide medication into the bags of family members or companions, nor hand them over to others. Check the regulations of your destination country to see if the person carrying the medication must match the individual named in the personal prescription.

Do not arbitrarily change the dosage instructions due to jet lag, meals, or storage conditions

If it is difficult to maintain your usual dosing time due to long-distance travel and jet lag, please contact Baekrokdam before departure. Do not take missed doses all at once on the plane or suddenly shorten the interval to match local time. Changes in meals and sleep must also be considered.

Avoid high temperature, high humidity, direct sunlight, and the extreme temperatures of checked luggage, and follow the storage instructions on your packaging. If the packaging becomes wet or damaged, or if you suspect discoloration or changes in smell, do not take the medication and send photos and a description of the condition to Baekrokdam.

If medication is lost, seized, or returned while abroad, do not guess how to resume dosing

If medication is lost or held/destroyed by customs, do not replace it with other local products or remaining diet medication. First, notify Baekrokdam of your last dose, the remaining quantity, and your stay or return schedule. International shipping is not provided; we will guide you on possible dosing options in your current situation and the medical evaluation plan after your return.

Follow the guidance of the relevant national authorities regarding customs clearance decisions and appeal procedures. Baekrokdam cannot resolve local customs issues on your behalf or guarantee subsequent approval. Do not declare ingredients or product names differently to get your medication back.

The contact system remains the same even if symptoms occur during an overseas stay

If there are no emergency symptoms, first send the Baekrok-Gambee-jeong packaging, your last dose, the local time, your symptoms, and any medications takenCaffeineto Baekrokdam. Dr. Choi Yeon-seung (Korean Medicine Doctor) will guide you on the next dose and the necessary medical evaluation sequence. If you have received new medication locally, please share the medication name, ingredients, and dosage again.

If you have clear emergency symptoms such as chest pain, fainting, severe shortness of breath, changes in consciousness, seizures, facial or tongue swelling, or breathing difficulties, do not wait for a response from Baekrokdam due to the time difference; use local emergency numbers and emergency medical institutions.

Do not arbitrarily resume taking remaining medication after returning home

If you paused taking the medication during your trip, if storage conditions were uncertain, or if you used new medication, do not immediately resume according to previous medication guides. Notify Baekrokdam of your return date, last dose, symptoms during the trip, and any new medications to confirm the next dose.

The expiration date and packaging condition of the remaining medication will also be reviewed. Rather than weight changes before and after the trip, organizing your meals, sleep, and bowel movements adverse reactionsfirst will help Dr. Choi Yeon-seung (Korean Medicine Doctor) determine prescription adjustments and follow-up plans.

Re-verify regulations and the scope of Baekrokdam's operations before departure

National regulations on bringing in pharmaceuticals and the scope of services provided by Baekrokdam may change. Do not decide on a trip months in advance based solely on the review date of this page; re-verify the latest information with both the official authorities of the destination country and Baekrokdam immediately before departure.

The core point is simple. International shipping is not currently provided, and carrying medication while traveling requires both confirmation of prescription and dosing from Baekrokdam and customs clearance verification from the destination country. Rather than hiding or bypassing ambiguous parts, notify us in advance to prepare a safe plan together.

Integrated Customer Questions

Questions previously scattered across various posts are answered here

We have gathered questions that require the same judgment, even if expressed differently, into this guide.

What should be compared between Gambee-hwan obtained overseas and a prescription from a domestic Korean medicine clinic?

Rather than the name or price, you must verify the actual product classification, ingredient and dosage labeling, the channel for prescribing and reporting adverse reactions, and the legality of distribution and customs clearance. Baekrokdam does not currently provide non-face-to-face prescriptions or international shipping for those staying overseas.

What should I do if my dosing time changes due to a business trip or travel?

Do not take missed doses all at once or arbitrarily shorten the interval to match the time difference. Patients already prescribed in Korea should notify Baekrokdam of their schedule, time difference, and remaining quantity before departure, and separately check the official regulations of the destination for bringing in medication.

Verification of Evidence

What the evidence says and what it cannot say

The Korea Post states that the destination country determines the customs clearance of pharmaceuticals and herbal medicine ingredients, and items may be returned or destroyed even if accepted.

Meaning in My Situation
You must only check whether domestic mail acceptance is possible; you should not send prescription medication without separately verifying the regulations of the destination country.
Limitations of Interpretation
Post office guidance does not guarantee the permissibility of a specific country or the customs clearance of Baekrok Gambi-jeong.
EMS Common Requirements by Country ↗

The US FDA explains that importing foreign medicines for personal use is illegal in most situations, and decisions on exceptions are discretionary.

Meaning in My Situation
It must not be guided that entry into the US is automatically permitted simply because the medicine is for personal use, in small quantities, or accompanied by a prescription.
Limitations of Interpretation
US regulations do not apply to other countries, and actual permissibility depends on the product, the situation, and the judgment of the relevant authorities.
Personal Importation ↗

Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has regulations on procedures by item and quantity, as well as prohibited and controlled ingredients for the personal import of medicines.

Meaning in My Situation
The latest quantity standards and whether an Import Confirmation is required must be verified through official Japanese guidance before traveling.
Limitations of Interpretation
The permissibility of individual ingredients in a complex herbal medicine prescription cannot be determined based on general quantity standards alone.

During medical evaluation
