The goal for the first 7 days is not maximum weight loss
The first week is not a period to test how quickly you lose weight, but a period to verify if you can take the medicine as prescribed and how your appetite, meals, sleep, bowel movements, and discomfort change. If you only look for strong sensations or significant weight changes, you may miss necessary safety signals.
Record your usual condition before starting
Record your weight before taking the medicine under the same conditions, and note the time you feel hungriest, your meals and late-night snacks, sleep and wake times, bowel movements, and Caffeine intake. Pre-existing insomnia orconstipationthrobbing must also be indicated to distinguish them from new changes that occur after taking the medicine.
First, review the medication guide issued to you
The standard dose for Baekrok Gambi-jeong is 2 tablets twice a day, but for the first day, prioritize your personal medication guide. Do not apply charts from other people or information from other Gambi-hwan. Keep the packaging and medication guide together.
You may take a smaller dose initially
During the initial adaptation period, you may start with a dose smaller than the standard amount to observe your body's reaction. Do not take extra doses later just because you started with a smaller amount. The timing for moving to the standard dose will be decided with the director based on your actual reactions.
Do not decide to increase the dose on your own
Do not increase the dose beyond the standard amount just because there is little change in appetite or your weight remains the same. Dose increases must be decided only after consultation and recommendation from the director. Avoid taking a large amount at once or attempting to make up for missed doses.
Record both appetite and actual food intake
Simply rate your appetite from 0 to 10 and record actual meals, snacks, and late-night snacks. Even if appetite decreases, it is not considered a positive reaction if you are unable to eat or if meals are difficult due to nausea. We monitor both hydration and the maintenance of meals.
Particularly when only morning hunger is reduced, continue to record whether you can eat lunch after a small first meal, whether your daytime energy and concentration are maintained, and whether eating is concentrated in the evening. Situations to monitor with a small first meal and situations that must be reported before the next dose can be Decision Chart for Lack of Morning Appetite After Gambi-jeongverified in detail here.
Weight is viewed as a trend under consistent conditions
Rather than weighing yourself every hour, record your weight at the same time and in similar clothing whenever possible. Daily weight can fluctuate based on hydration, salt intake, and bowel movements. You cannot determine that the medicine is ineffective or that you have plateaued based on a single number from the first week.
Record sleep and caffeine intake on one line
Record the time of medication, the timing of coffee, tea, energy drinks, or exercise supplements, as well as the time you fell asleep and any nighttime awakenings. On days when you have poor sleep, also indicate your concentration and throbbing the following day. Do not add alcohol or someone else's sleeping pills to hide insomnia.
Monitor changes in bowel movements and digestion
Record the start time and severity of nausea, abdominal pain, dry mouth, constipation, or diarrhea. Note whether you can maintain water and food intake, and check for bloody stools, black stools, or severe abdominal bloating. Do not continuously add various over-the-counter medications to mask symptoms.
Do not double the dose to make up for a missed dose
If you miss one dose, do not take two doses at once next time. Check the interval until the next dose and the medication instructions. If you have paused treatment for several days or are unsure whether to resume after vomiting, notify Baekrokdam of the time of your last dose and last episode of vomiting.
Questions to check on Day 3 and Day 7
Ask whether the actual dosage was followed, if appetite and food intake changed without undue strain, and if sleeppulseand bowel movements are maintained, and if there are any discomforts interfering with daily life. Organizing the answers on one screen makes it easier to determine adjustments during the follow-up visit.
Brief daily records are sufficient
Record the actual morning and evening dosage and time, appetite (0–10), meals/late-night snacks, caffeine, sleep time, bowel movements, and discomfort in a single line. It is better to repeat the same items for a week than to give up while writing long diaries, as this makes it easier to identify the chronological relationship of changes.
Mark days with company dinners or eating out separately
Record your usual alcohol intake, the start time of the company dinner, the last dose taken, sleep, and any discomfort the following day. Do not arbitrarily skip doses due to a company dinner or take missed doses all at once after returning home. If you have a scheduled event, notify Baekrokdam in advance to confirm the dosage for that day.
Do not suddenly increase exercise
If you start an extreme diet and high-intensity exercise simultaneously on the day you start medication, it is difficult to distinguish the cause of dizziness, fatigue, or muscle pain. Maintain your usual activity level and gradually add new exercises based on your current physical strength. Do not dismiss severe chest pain or shortness of breath as merely being due to exercise.
Functional changes to monitor during work life
Record concentration, anxiety/restlessness, hand tremors, daytime sleepiness, and nighttime sleep. Even if weight decreases, discomfort that interferes with work or driving is not an acceptable result. If this recurs, inquire before taking additional doses and avoid dangerous tasks until your condition stabilizes.
Notify us of menstruation and possibility of pregnancy
If the timing or pattern of menstrual bleeding is different from usual, or if there is a possibility of pregnancy, do not independently continue, stop, or restart medication; notify Baekrokdam. If accompanied by severe abdominal pain, bleeding, or dizziness, seek medical evaluation without delay.
Report recurring discomfort before the next dose
Do not endure pulsating sensations, hand tremors, overnight insomnia, recurring vomiting, or severe constipation as if they are expected effects. Send the medication name, dosage, last dose taken, and a timeline of symptoms including caffeine or cold medicine use to check the need for adjustment, discontinuation, or a clinic visit.
Emergency symptoms require immediate medical evaluation
Chest pain, fainting, severe shortness of breath, changes in consciousness, seizures, severe abdominal pain, recurring vomiting dehydrationor jaundice require immediate emergency evaluation; do not wait for a non-face-to-face response. Once stabilized, provide the actual medication intake information to the prescribing institution.
Next steps after the first week
Do not decide to continue or increase the dose based on weight alone. Review the actual dosage, appetite/meals, weekly weight, sleep, bowel movements, and discomfort with the director to decide whether to maintain, adjust, discontinue, or pursue a different medical direction. The first week's records serve as the starting point for comparing the rate of weight loss thereafter.
When making an inquiry, you do not need to perfectly organize the entire seven days of records. Please first send your actual dosage log, the most significant changes, any discomfort that interfered with your daily life, and your most pressing questions. After receiving a response, note the updated dosage instructions and the next check-up date to continue your records.
Even if there are no major changes in the first week, do not conclude it as a failure; conversely, if weight drops rapidly, check if it is mixed with water loss, decreased food intake, or discomfort. The goal is not a strong reaction, but to create a treatment flow that can be safely evaluated.
Please keep these records so that you can compare changes from the second week onward.
